Default How To Download Music Off Myspace

I posted this in a thread the other day, but this is just so more people can use it:

Elusive track on myspace that has an annoying grey link, meaning you cant download it? hah- not anymore!

Firstly, you can use one of these tools:

http://www.unblockr.net/myspace/musicdownloader/
http://www.eches.net/myspace-music/

but if these dont work, heres another way of doing it:

1. Firstly, select your band site, as shown here, all the links are greyed out, so you cant click asnd download.

Take the friend ID of this profile, its normally displayed in the URL bar at the top, like so:

2) and put it on the end of this URL
http:// mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/musicplayerxml.ashx?b=[INSERT NUMBER HERE]
(without the space between http:// and mediaservices)

and you'll get a screen that looks like this, with loads of Coding:

This is the part of the coding you are looking for, from durl to .mp3

with the coding between the tags <song> to </song> being one of the songs on the profile.

take this link, and paste it into something like a "reply" on here, then click the link - it should prompt you to download - but it will have to be renamed. Often, if you paste it into a internet window URL box, and click enter, it may either prompt for download or play the song in the internet window, its not very consistent.

hope this helps, and if any of it isnt clear, im sure me or someone with some know-how will be able to help

Awesome, cheers!

I've been trying to use programs that record the sound coming out of my speakers but they haven't really worked.

This seems much easier!

the first two tools are the easiest way to do it, but they suffer from the same "big filename", so all you'll have to do is rename it.

glad to help.

or just download replay AV 8.

you hit record on that, then press play on the music and it records then you can edit out the silence on a different programme.

sometimes you get good quality, sometimes you dont.

Wow that's pretty cool. But tbh I won't use it I doubt cos seems liek a lot of effort when I could just use Limewire... discuss.

the first two links are just "put URL into box" "click decode" "save and rename files"

much easier than limewire.

Hmmm, it doesn't seem to work on Macs.
Has anyone else had that?

Works on my PC though.

Firstly, you can use one of these tools:

http://www.unblockr.net/myspace/musicdownloader/
http://www.eches.net/myspace-music/

that part = easiest. it doesnt involve all the bits in the XML document.

Yeah, fairdos, but it's good for small bands that don't allow you to download off their myspace

good point. And yes, I will use this next time I find something I can't download on myspace and isn't on Limewire either. Thanks for this, Gilly
