Its sweet. I think out of the past ten years I've been, it's only rained once. Theres like a dance music stage, reggae tent, d'n'b narrow boat haha. Always really busy, always really sunny. Obviously cos its a free fest you get all the kinda skanks from miles around camping there but that makes it even better. Go next year for sure

simplyrob
01-07-2008, 08:51 PM
sounds similar to rise festival in london in some ways, free festival, many stages, some good acts and you have a well good time. in fact the next rise festival is in 2 weekends time on the sunday, should be a laugh! css are playing!

the dnb narrowboat sounds amazing.

gloucester and cheltenham are sorta about 20-30mins north east of bristol.
guess youd get a train to bristol and then to bridgewater.

You poor bastards in IOM, when i worked for flybe whenever IOM flights were canceled it was like world war 3 had started on the phones.

lol dont get me started on flymaybe... theyve took over some of the routes and the flights theyve put on are ridiculous... shittest airline ever... ah well airport dont sound to far, spose theyll have good links with public transport.... all this effort to go to a festival, prob gonna cost me over £130 in flights, plus trains.. and cuz you cant bring luggage on board, im gonna have to buy tent etc when i arrive..

I kept saying that to these yanks that where over here a while back, was amusing because they believed me.

some americans i met in italy at an eu conference i was a part of were sure the uk, particularly england was all about cobbled streets, red telephone boxes, tea and we all love the beatles and thats about it along with the queen stuff, was amusing, we all sat on the steps to this well famous building singing along to strawberry fields forever and hey jude.

Chubbzilla
26-07-2008, 02:26 PM
Yeah, I know it's a proper stereotype but i love how stupid americans are.
They assume every other country is a tiny uneducated third world etc, these yanks we where talking to didnt think russia had electricity.

Yeah, I know it's a proper stereotype but i love how stupid americans are.
They assume every other country is a tiny uneducated third world etc, these yanks we where talking to didnt think russia had electricity.

maybe a bit naive but the americans i mentioned above were actually really ace people, we had such a laugh with them in those 3-4 days.

it was quite amusing that whole trip, how you had people from france, italy, russia, holland, england and usa there,

the us and england made friends really quickly and were pretty tight the whole weekend, the italians added a lot of fashion and flare, so many rich girls from milan there it was crazy, then again the conference was in italy so that makes sense i guess, and the dutch lads scored some weed and at a party organised for us all they managed to get themselves a few spliffs for themselves and their new mates (aka us lot) my mate got so stoned.

and on the last night we had an alcohol free disco, it was proper euro disco in there, it was amazing, although no alcohol did suck, some of our group ditched it and went to british themed pub around the corner.

that trip was actually amazing looking back on it.

what i mean is some things that happened out there by people was so stereotypical in a general sense, it was amusing...

It's good :) first year is a little slow, but your tutors actually help you. You do written work, as in essays and presentations but in doing so it actually helps you understand and learn new things about the world of fashion and it's past.
Plus, you get to show in Graduate fashion week in your third year ;)
